Rockford Sathie Sanmarka Sungam was made happy this week through the efforts of Minority Front Councillor Shane Hansraj in the quest for a permanent stay on the land in Rockford which was offically allocated to the society and in the opinion of the Minority Front it was subsequently withdrawn.

The Real Estate Department said that the land was zoned housing.

This week, Ward 48 MF Candidate Shane Hansraj together with MF Leader Mr A Rajbansi and Shameen Thakur Rajbansi handed over a letter to the Chairperson Shunmugam Kisten in which the town planning and housing branch confirmed that the site was surplused to the housing department and could be allienated and recorded that there was a functioning temple on the site.

Councillor Shane Hansraj says that the withdrawal letter was illegal and the original letter was legally binding.

The MF says on other areas in Phoenix to council “Hands of Guru Krishna and his temple sites.”
