An extra 1000 chairs were required at the Shallcross Community Hall on Sunday, 10 April 2011 where the Minority Front held a massive Ward 71 Candidate Anusha Maharaj’s Election Rally. Some observers said that it was the biggest crowd ever to turn-up at the Shallcross Community Hall and gave a clear message about her capability and abilities and Whites, Indians and Blacks came out in full support for her. In a clear message to the voters, MF leader Mr Rajbansi said that municipalities are being crippled by fraud and corruption, rising electricity and water bills and the people should not divide their vote and they should vote MF on both Ballot Papers. He said that the MF can take on the ANC head on while the DA relies on cheap publicity tricks and is cosy with the ANC.
Mr. Rajbansi asked the people, what is DA former leader Tony Leon is doing now and the crowd responded “He is working for the ANC Government”. Mr Rajbansi further asked the people not to fall for the ANC’s Housing Tricks and the DA’s tricks. He told the people, “No one can buy votes and no one can sell votes”. Mr Rajbansi said that for the sake of the Indentured Labourers everyone should stand up and fight.
The people were entertained with cultural items for all language groups. Some members came onto the stage, Blacks and Indians who declared that they were DA and ANC supporters and have now joined the MF.
