The Minority Front has come out very strongly against an imposition of FUEL TAX to supplement the income of major municipalities such as eThekweni and Msundusi. This is what the Leader of The Minority Front, Mr A Rajbansi, and vowed this week.
This suggestion was made by representatives of the two Cities to the meeting of the NCOP Committee of the KZN Legislature recently.
Mr Rajbansi said that motorists are already very heavily burdened with the regular rise in fuel prices and running costs.
The MF believes that the priority must be effective recovery of rates and other charges and not making municipalities welfare institutions.
The MF first want sound financial management and useless major projects like Ushaka Island, two stadiums, large airport and getting rid of corruption.
