MF's VICTORY IN WARD 52 BI-ELECTION

In one of the most thrilling bi-elections held in the eThekwini Municipality after a tense campaign the Minority Front reversed its April 22nd slide by defeating the DA Candidate Ramachandra Govender (Vassie) by MF’s candidate Bradley Singh obtaining 2200 votes to the DA obtaining 1571 votes. The ANC obtained 983 votes Kalimuthi Pandaram (Kelly).

The MF obtained 47% of the votes while the DA obtained 32% and the ANC 28%. This Bi-election was for the control of Phoenix and the MF reversed its April 22 loss with an upward swing of 70% while the DA declined by 24%. Mr A. Rajbansi the Minority Front Leader said that the reversal of the loss by the MF and the upward gain of 70% was a significant message from the voters that they cannot be mislead anymore.

Mr Rajbansi said that the Indian community will no more look towards the DA as the MF fought this election for the first time as an opposition party.

The Tiger is on the prowl and the target is the 2011 local government election.
