PHOENIX ELIM SENIOR CITIZENS SPORTS DAY

22 June 2009

Minority Front leader Mr A. Rajbansi was the guest of honour at a Sports Day, organized by Phoenix Elim Senior Citizens.

The sports was a great success and Mr Rajbansi said that it was very good to see senior people participating in sports.

Mr Rajbansi donated a cheque for the feeding at the event and expressed that he would be taking up the matter of non-sponsorship of the event to Parliament.

Mr Rajbansi also informed the Senior Citizens that South Africa is in a recession and Kwa-Zulu Natal is worst hit. The saving of the recession must be a partnership between Government and the Community. Mr Rajbansi said that he debated in Parliament ways on how to overcome the recession. Every family must grow something and every yard must have a fruit tree. People who plant can utilize the vegetables for their own meals. We have faced many problems and challenges in the past and have survived.

We must persevere, work hard and help each other to overcome recession.
