As the Minster for Sports and Recreation he is tasked with growing sports in KZN by stimulating mass participation at all levels. Department motto is Active people, Healthy communities.

STADIUMS

These are costly infrastructure and are really needed in some very populated areas where crime, drugs, school drop out and high unemployment exists. Sports is a way of unifying all people. Sporting talent can only be untapped if we have these faculties. The MF is fighting for a stadium in Phoenix, with a sizeable population of mainly law – socio-economic people. Local government must utilize the MIG – Municipal infrastructure grant from National to give us these sporting facilities.
