Mr A. Rajbansi Leader of the Minority Front severely criticized the ANC Ethekwini Municipality for voting against the use of Durban City Hall for weddings. At Ethekwini Council Meeting the ANC voted against the proposal when reviewing of the banning of the City Hall for weddings was placed on the agenda for discussion.
The only two Political Party’s who voted for the banning to be lifted was the MF and the DA . Mr Rajbansi said that the community members, namely Visvin Reddy, Maggie Govender, Deputy Mayor Logie Naidoo and Rabbie Govind all voted for the banning to remain in place.
Historically, Indian weddings were not allowed in Durban City Hall and it was a hard struggle to get weddings at City Hall and in time of freedom such ban is reimposed.
