The two MF MPs in the KZN Legislature, Mr Amichand Rajbansi and Mrs Shameen Thakur-Rajbansi have immediately swung into action this week by firing some very soul searching and sensitive questions to the Hon Premier, Mr Z Mhize and other MECs on far ranging matters about the international airport, why the cost has exceeded R2,5 billion and whether This was going to be a white elephant and in terms of what law was the Provincial funds being used and why was a building which was now completed jointly constructed by the Divine Life Society in the North Coast officially opened? How much taxpayers’ money was spent on the opening and what was the cost of the transport and catering.
The MEC for social Welfare has to answer on how much food parcels and food vouchers were handed out this year and what was the total cost of the food parcels and vouchers and what were the criteria for the selection of the recipients.
To the MEC of Economic Development, a response is required on how much the taxpayers’ money was paid for the use of his private vehicle from Government funds since 2004.
The MEC for Social Welfare will have to answer on the total cost of the hire of a helicopter service and also how many times the helicopter was used to and from his residence.

The Mec for Arts & Culture will have to answer on how much funds were allocated to Black and Indian culture organizations for the promotion of culture.
The Hon Premier has to answer on the total cost of the Premiers’ Inaugural Function held on 11 May 2009 and why, like the previous years was it not done when the other members were sworn in and was this further expenditure justified in the light of the critical financial shortage that the Provincial Legislature is experiencing.
