Minority Front Councillor Patrick Pillay is seen with concerned resident Mr Vincent Anesan and others at the Shellside Park.
Minority Front Councillor Patrick Pillay and some residents did an inspection in loco of the Shellside Park and was disgusted at the kind of stuffs that was illegally dumped in the Park.
Councillor Pillay said that the park is and area for children to play as a form of recreation and unfortunately this is not happening. In most parks in Phoenix, the facilities are been abused and no care is taken to ensure that the place does not become a health risk. People who dump illegally in our parks should be criminally charged because it causes major health risks to our children.
The Minority Front will be requesting the Parks and Gardens to attend to the park in Shellside but the greater responsibility lays with the community whom must not hesitate to report people who dump illegally. We must take great care of our facilities and ensure that nobody destroys our recreational parks.
Mr Vincent Anesan, a resident in the area said that the illegal dumping has always been a cause for concern and we have called on the Minority Front Councillor Patrick Pillay to assist us. The Shellside Park is the only recreational area for our children and is always abused.
