A very lively crowd of 2000 packed the Greenbury Hall on Sunday with overflow on all sides for the MF “Celebrate Rajbansi” concert and the pre-election rally.
The leader of the Minority Front said that the MF had a depth of new cadres and at the tail end introduced them saying that the MF is also the mixed front and emphasized very strongly that the MF caters for all sections of the South African community.
Mr Rajbansi said that the 2006 local government electione proved that the MF is the King of Phoenix and might be called upon to play the role of kingmaker in provincial politics. He said that never before in history has the new South Africa needed a South African voice for minorities.
The MF leader said that the MF wants a clean election and political parties should promote their own parties rather than attacking others. He said that the people are angry and there are grave concerns about joblessness, housing, food prices, crime, health and social services.
He said the mistake of our province is that the country is spending a lot of money in high capital intensive projects rather than SMMEs and the informal sectre and realization of small towns, turnaround on agriculture and also to make KZN the manufacturing hub of South Africa.
The MF also believes that South Africa should be a strong developmental state and said that social pensioners should get a minimum of R1200 per month and for unemployment there should be a special unemployment grant called dole.
Education must be free and expenditure on education should be increased so that there can be quality education for all. Mr Rajbansi said that there should be good governance based on sound economic principles and efficiency and the size of the government should be pruned.
South Africa cannot afford 9 provinces and the minority front will propose that the number of provinces be reduced from 9 to 4. Affirmative action is having a negative impact on this country and furthermore, people who are in charge of applying the policy are applying it unfairly.
The Minority Front wants a stronger action on crime and where heavy illegal guns are used in highjacking and heists, the persons in possession of rifles and AK 47s should receive life sentences without parole.
The government must also peg the rise in the prices of food and cut out the middlemen and unnecessary profiteering. Possibly on the question of staple food, a very strong socialist approach may be necessary. In certain countries the government buys the entire harvest so that the masses can get cheaper food at cost price.
Mr Rajbansi said that the MF will be like a wild card in the next election and will spring a surprize with significantly improved results. He also paraded Zulu members of the MF.
