Mrs S. T. Rajbansi warns all motorists to be on high alert when around roborts especially along the Higginson Highway. She was nearly hijacked on The heavy rains lately have caused damages that left some resident’s scrambling for help in the early morning of Saturday (19/11/2011).
Over 10 families were left without power at 1:00am due to the rain.Rain water got into the power meter box situated at that back of the house thus causing the wiring to burst into flames. Family members had to seek shelter with neighbours for safety until the repairs was done. Another family was awakened about 4:00am in morning with sound of running water in her house. Mrs Perumal was surprised to find her house flooded with water which was caused due to the storm water manhole in yard overflowing.
On both incidents MF Councillor Ganas Govender was called out to assist these residents. Councillor Ganas Govender contacted the various Municipality Departments and sorted out both the incident.
The residents confirm their appreciation to Councillor Govender for his response on that early morning under such bad weather.
