| THE TRUTH ABOUT GRANTS |
The MF has consistently campaigned that grants must be increased to R1000 from the 2004 Elections and now in the local government elections. The MF has put motions in parliament to this effect and we have debated this issue. Our argument is that most grantees cannot afford to pay rentals, lights, water, food; medical and clothing bills and the rentals, lights and water are not exempted by any municipality for grantees. Therefore the MF has been fighting for the Increase in grants which went up from R740 to R780 and hopefully by May this year to R820. So the MF is winning the fight but we also need to fight fraud in the department where ghost pensioners are eating away grants. Do not believe the lies of parties who are not fighting for your grant increases. The MF has your needs at heart. |
