DA’s George Mari appears to be troubled because Mr Rajbansi did not apply the Employment Equity Act that required only 4% of the staff must be Indians.

Mr Rajbansi says in order to settle the matter properly the following were the staff of the Sports and Recreation Department when he was Minister:

» Indians – 30
» Black Africans – 73
» Whites – 3
» Coloureds – 3

Mr Rajbansi says that his interpretation of the Affirmative Action Policy is that Indians are Blacks. Instead of employing four Indians he employed thirty Indians and DA’s George Marie wanted me to only employ four Indians and deprive other Indians of the jobs.

Mr Rajbansi also said that the DA’s Provincial Leader, Mr S. Mchunu was questioning Mr Rajbansi at how much time he was spending in the Indian Community.
