The regular pro DA stance in the Times Extra is not good for fair and balanced journalism. This is reflected once again in the heading of the lead story of the Times Extra dated 22 May 2011 under the heading “DA snaps up Indian votes”. Seventy five percent of SA Indians reside in the Durban Metro area and the Times looked at the DA winning I seat in Lenasia and 3 seats in Northdale.
The other media, together with political analyst said that the bulk of the Indian vote in the Durban Metro went to the MF and most of the newspapers said that the MF and DA have snapped up the Indian vote. The MF has been voted the NO.1 Party in Chatsworth and Phoneix and is the third largest Party in the Durban Metro.
Its time that the Times shed its pro DA stance.
