Minority Front Leader Mr A. Rajbansi and members thank all voters for supporting the Minority Front in the2011 Local Government Elections. MF serves you, all the time
MF’s Great Local Government Triumph
In one of the most critical and significant Local Government Election since 1994, while many small parties shrunk or were destroyed, the Minority Front triumphed and can boast about the following:
»The MF has once again been crowned the KING of Phoenix and Chatsworth through the ballot box.
»The MF has emerged to be the third largest Party IN THE POWERFUL Ethekwini Municipality.
»The MF has won once again a prestigious EXCO seat in the Ethekwini Municipality.
The fact that the MF is bigger than the IFP IN THE Durban Metro can be measured against the following difficulties – the quota per seat grew from 5800 votes in 2006 to 9430 per seat in 2011; DA and ANC received an average of 10 000 votes per Ward in their respective strong holds while the MF received an average of 6000 votes in their Wards in Phoenix and Chatsworth.
The MF had to swim and survive in this strong tidal pool of DA and ANC SURGE and cane out with flying colours. The MF expresses a wish that political analyst and certain sections of the media must accept that the MF has “staying power” and other parties, and not the MF are perishing.
The MF has won a seat each in Kwadukuza, Umdoni, Msunduzi and Ladysmith.
The further difficulties were that 50% of the Indians did not register and of those who registered only 35% turned up to vote.
In this joint terrain the MF achievement is outstanding.
